Frozen Sing-Along

Frozen Sing-Along

For a month or so I have been trying to see one of the Frozen shows at California Adventure. Even with a FastPass the wait was seven hours to get into the sing-along. I finally saw For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration. Characters come out to talk about Elsa and Anna making an appearance. Anna comes out to talk about some guy helping sing the songs. It’s so lame I won’t waste your time. Basically, parts of the movie play with words at the bottom of the screen for the audience to sing along. At the end a girl as Elsa comes out and lip-syncs to “Let It Go” in a costume that doesn’t fit her.

Aladdin is so much better. I liked the Hyperion Theatre better too. It’s in Hollywood Land like the Crown Jewel Theatre where the Frozen show is. Aladdin’s genie is hilarious. He makes lots of current event jokes about Britney Spears and other singers. The dancing is big with belly dancing and lots of dancers to fill the stage. The belly dancer costumes are colorful and stylish. All the costumes are well thought out. From the acting to the dancing and singing it feels like a big production show.

I heard someone talking at the end of Aladdin comparing the Genie they had seen the night before. The show is good if someone is going twice in two days.

I haven’t seen Freeze the Night! A Family Dance Party, also in Hollywood Land. The show is on Friday through Sunday nights at 6pm ‘til the park closes. Try that over the Frozen sing-along. At least there is snow and you’re outside where your family is a bit freer to explore the area or get a drink while they are forced to listen to the songs.
