If you hate vegetables, juicing is the best way to enjoy your veggies. After a year of having fun with my wheatgrass juice and drinking easy drinks with carrots and apples, I knew I had to add more dark greens to my juices.
I use Envy or Fuji or Pink Lady or Gala apples, but sometimes a green apple. I try to use Meyer lemons for sweetness if available. The cucumber will make the drink light and airy.
Spinach is high in iron, which combats anemia. Kale is great for your hair elasticity, growth, and moisturizing the scalp.
Green Juice
1 apple
1 lemon
1 cucumber
2 kale leaves
1 bunch of spinach (maybe 2 cups)
Yield: 12 – 15 ounces
Directions:
Wash and chop all the fruits and veggies. Don’t juice apple seeds since they contain cyanide. Juice the lemon last to get the pulp off the auger. The spinach creates foam. Use a strainer to pour juice from foam. Enjoy!
Food for Thought:
Happy Independence Day! Even though I don’t really believe America is a free country. America keeps feeling less and less like a country. I thought we were a motley crew, a rebellious bunch. I’ll keep writing here until they take away the freedom to say whatever I want. So many people are afraid of each other and the unknown. We are being manipulated by those in “power.” We should have faith. It says in in the Psalms, “Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.” (NIV Study Bible, Psalm 91:3) Read all of Psalm 91. It is a prayer of safety under God Almighty.
Happy Juicing!
