Apple Lemon Ginger Juice

When it gets to the end of the week I usually run out of veggies to juice, raw juice. Apples are usually left over since they stay fresh longer. Raw juice is how I get my vitamins and minerals and all those other important nutrients I don’t think about.

Apples contain vitamins A and C, phosphorus, iron flavonoids, and calcium. Apples are great for sweetening juice plus they are low on the glycemic index. They control insulin levels because they slowly release sugars into the bloodstream. Apples reduce intestinal disorders, including diverticulitis, and some types of cancers. Apples aid in detoxifying and removing heavy metals like lead and mercury. Much of this information is according to The Ultimate Book of Modern Juicing by Mimi Kirk.

Lemons are antibacterial, antiviral, and immune boosting. They kill the bacteria that cause acne. They contain vitamin C, bioflavonoids, pectin, magnesium, and limonene, which promote immunity and fights infections. They help with strong bones and cartilage. I know people think juice and particularly lemons destroy the enamel on their teeth. Lemons help with the development of strong teeth and gums.

My acupuncturist drinks three lemons with a glass of water every morning. Medical Medium, Yoga Lifestyle with Melissa, and Author Mimi Kirk all suggest lemon water first thing in the morning to clean out the body. According to Author Mimi Kirk, “Lemon water helps to alkalize the body and clear toxins that accumulate overnight in our digestive system.” Anthony Williams in Medical Medium Celery Juice says about drinking half a lemon in 16 to 32-ounces of water, “This gives the liver a cleansing first thing in the morning.” Yogi Melissa West says, “Warm lemon water can help stimulate the cleansing of your liver.”

As I’ve mentioned before, I like to keep some peel on because lemon peel has calcium, potassium, vitamins A and C, and helps heal wounds.

Ginger is an anti-inflammatory and a great immunity booster.

Apple Lemon Ginger Juice Recipe
3 Braeburn apples
1 Meyer lemon
1-inch ginger root

Yield: 16-ounces

Directions:
I use my MMV700 Omega juicer. Cut up apple into slices. Cut off some of the skin of the lemon and then half the lemon. Slowly drop in apples, ginger, and then lemon. I juice at least a piece of lemon last to get the pulp off the auger and through the screen. Apples can make mush if you juice them too fast.

Food for Thought:
Did you see the news this week about a livestock ship capsizing in the typhoon? Bloomberg Next China headline reads, “A search operation is on for a cargo ship carrying 43 crew and 5,800 cows that went missing in a typhoon off Japan.” One crewmember was found. An animal activist tweeted “Omg!! 6000 cows on a ship!? So sad for each of them.” Then someone responded, “Nothing for the 43 humans?” Every vegan and animal lover is different. It’s not that vegans don’t care about people. The people knew what they were doing and transported livestock by choice. I have talked about some fishermen on foreign ships held as slaves in my books, but still they had a choice getting on that ship. The point is the cows did not have a choice. Why would you travel through a typhoon anyway?

Go deeper and see that all the abnormal weather right now is weather warfare. If the crewmembers were aware of the weather being manipulated, they may not have gotten on that ship.

There are vegans who fight for all life. Elana Freeland, who is a vegan, writes and speaks about geoengineering and 5G. She looks at the big picture and thinks for herself.

Humans have it equally as bad as the animals. The human trafficking doesn’t go unnoticed, but the mainstream media doesn’t want to focus on it because they are covering up for the people who pay them. Sarah Westall has done many videos on human trafficking and the pedophile ring.

A lot of what is going on isn’t hidden. It’s easy to find photos and articles on sites like Hollywood Insider and Business Insider. There are many photos of Trump and Melania with Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein. While working at Mir-a-Lago, President Trump’s Palm Beach resort, Ghislaine recruited girls for Jeffrey into his sex trafficking operation. And I could point out all the times The Donald disrespected women, but I think his connection to a sex trafficking ring is damning enough. I’m all for equality. Let’s not forget Creepy Joe.

Joe Biden and his accuser Actress Tara Reade story made it to mainstream news. She was a staff assistant in his Senate office in early 1990s. It was a confusing report of he said she said. But I do remember recently Biden describing how beautiful his friend’s daughter was. And then there are the countless times he whispered into women and young girl’s ears.

In my mind, these topics connected so much better.

People tell me they can’t keep up with all the information and don’t know what to believe. The mainstream news is meant to confuse us. When I research a topic, it bleeds into other topics. Many people fear information especially when it’s the truth. Sarah Westall calls it “Truth Trauma.” Disinformation and fear are used to control us. Doing the research helps me to remember to not give these “leaders” my power.

Happy Juicing!

Save The Chickens

Save The Chickens
#SaveTheChickens Photo by M.C.

I can’t get this story out of my head. I had heard about chickens being euthanized. I stumbled across a secondary article about the farmers and their chickens. The original story came from StarTribune and has made it to other online news and Twitter.

The original article I read didn’t explain the chickens will be used for dog food. It also didn’t explain that the farmers had no decision in the matter.

Originally, I thought it would be better to sell the chickens to people who want pets or chickens who lay eggs. But we are talking about a big company that wants to deal with the situation quickly to make money. In a letter to the editor, a Minneapolis resident asked, “Why couldn’t some of those chickens be given away to people that are experiencing food insecurity?”

I remember reading about a report in the 1970s during America’s economic downturn that said chicken farmers dumped thousands of live baby chicks into dumpsters. I knew something similar was coming. Here we are again.

If there is a farmer in America, in a dire situation, who is willing or able to give or sell their chickens to the public then please let me know and I will happily publicize the chickens for you on my blog and Twitter. You may email me at melissacrismon@live.com. I encourage other bloggers to do the same especially those who are animal lovers. It’s worth a try to save the chickens even if it’s just a few out of 61,000.
